Elmer L. Harris

	Elmer L. Harris, 68, of DuQuoin, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2001 at 8:35 a.m. at his home.
	Mr. Harris was a painter and of the Christian faith.  He was a life member at the DuQuoin VFW Post 513 and a member of the DuQuoin American Legion Post 647.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
	He was born April 20, 1933 at Johnston City, the son of Cecil and Juanita (Roach) Harris.  He married Mabel L. Green on May 5, 1956 at Iuka, Miss.
	Surviving are his wife, Mabel Harris of DuQuoin; three sons, George Harris of DuQuoin; Jack Harris of DuQuoin and Kenneth Harris of DuQuoin; his mother, Juanita Harris of Sunfield; three brothers, Bill Harris of DuQuoin, Tom Harris of DuQuoin and Richard Harris of Carlton, Tex.; two sisters, Virginia Zimmerman of Sesser and Clara Miller of Mulkeytown; a sister-in-law, Jean Harris of DuQuoin; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
	He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, John.
	Funeral services were Tuesday, November 20 at 1 p.m. at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gerald Wright officiating.  Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park at DuQuoin.
	Friends called Monday, November 19 from 6 until 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. until time of service.
